Mala Compra Greenway Trail
Starting with the Mala Compra Greenway Trail, this one’s a local favorite for intermediate mountain bikers. You can access the trail at Bing's Landing. It’s about 5.5 miles of mixed terrain—think hard-packed sandy paths, shaded woodlands, and a few small bridges over water to keep things interesting. The best part? The bike path connects to a 1.5 mile hiking trail that leads you to the beach trailhead at Mala Compra Park and rewards you with fantastic vistas of the Atlantic Ocean.
Intracoastal Waterway Trail
The Intracoastal Waterway Trail offers an easier, more tranquil biking experience. This trail winds approximately 2 miles from the Hammock Dunes Bridge to Waterfront Park and provides scenic views from the banks of the Intracoastal Waterway. Waterfront Park even has a bike maintenance station with tools for pumping and spinning tires. You’ll be pedaling through a mix of salt marshes and beautiful open views of the water and a chance to see dolphins and manatees. This mixed-use trail is paved, so it’s perfect for anyone looking for a smooth, leisurely ride while taking in the gorgeous Florida landscapes.
Lehigh Greenway Trail
Next up is the Lehigh Greenway Trail. This one is about 8 miles long and located a little more inland, on what was once a railroad corridor. The paved path winds through the heart of Palm Coast and parallels the Lehigh Canal for much of its length. It offers a peaceful ride through shaded areas, which is perfect when the Florida sun is beating down. The multi-use trail is mostly flat, so it’s an easy ride for all skill levels, and it connects to the Linear Park Trail network if you want to extend your adventure with a more challenging path.
Linear Park Trail
Speaking of the Linear Park Trail, it’s another great option for advanced riders that runs for about 2.5 miles. It’s connected to various other paths in Palm Coast, making it ideal for mountain bikers who want to extend their biking route. It’s a short but challenging ride, with technical trails and five stream crossings. The Knock 'em Out section should be reserved for advanced riders only. Linear Park itself is designated as a stopping point on the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail.
Graham Swamp Preserve Trail
Want another challenging trail ride? Then the Graham Swamp Trail is your spot. It’s a 6-mile singletrack trail that’s more suited for experienced mountain bikers. A black diamond rated trail, the terrain is rough, with lots of twists and turns, so it’s sure to get your adrenaline pumping. It’s great for seasoned bikers looking for some thrills in a preserve that's home to a rich variety of wading birds and waterfowl as well as deer, otter, fox and other wildlife.
Bulow Woods Trail
History buffs will appreciate the Bulow Woods Trail, which leads you to the remnants of an old sugar mill plantation. Part of the Bulow Plantation Ruins Historic State Park, this mountain bike trail is about 6.8 miles long and offers a mix of historical exploration and natural beauty. You’ll ride through a shaded hammock of stately oaks and hardwood trees before arriving at the ruins—a nice reward after a good ride.
Don’t have your own bike? No problem! You can easily rent one from Flagler Bike Shop or Palm Coast Bicycle Trail Shop. Both shops offer a range of bikes for all types of riders, whether you need a standard bike, a beach cruiser to tool around town, or something a little more rugged for those adventurous trails.
